Submissions for to the Global Outlook::Digital Humanities essay prize closed yesterday. Approximately sixty submissions were received from at least 15 countries and in at least six languages. Submissions came from all types of researchers: undergraduate and graduate students, post-doctoral researchers, junior and senior university faculty, independent scholars and activists. The submissions are now being sorted and prepared for the adjudication committee. The original goal had been to finish the adjudication process in July. The unexpectedly large number of submissions, however, will almost certainly require adjustments to the time table. We will inform the contestants (and the larger community) as soon as the new schedule is prepared.
